Inspiring Professional Women
Joyce Irene Grenfell, OBE was an English comedian, singer, actress, monologist, scriptwriter and producer. She was a trailblazer and pioneer for women in comedy, a talented mimic way ahead of her time, doing one-woman shows. For nearly four decades, she charmed her audiences as a witty monologist and raconteur. She inherited her bold talents from her American mother who was an eccentric socialist and the sister of Lady Nancy Astor. Her father was an architect and Joyce lived in London and Paris. She appeared on radio, stage, revues, film and TV.
